OPEN CALL FOR PHOTO-MATCH: NEW PORTFOLIO REVIEW
21 March 2017

Bored with the old and well-known formula of a portfolio review? Well, we are bored with it, too. That is why we have prepared the first edition of PHOTO-MATCH – a new portfolio review.

PHOTO-MATCH is a two-day meeting of photographers with reviewers – curators, editors, and owners of art galleries.

The authors have an opportunity to consult their projects with photography professionals, whereas for the reviewers, such face-to-face meetings with artists are the source of new discoveries and inspirations.

We have built our new vision of portfolio review basing on many years of experience as organisers and reviewers. However, first of all we invited review participants to communicate their ideas and needs. PHOTO-MATCH is based on an innovative form of presenting photographic portfolios, introduced in Poland for the first time ever. The photographers will have an opportunity to show their works to all the reviewers and the audience during the first day of the review. By the same token, experts will also present their profiles and points of interest in photography. On the basis of all these presentations, each of the photographers and reviewers will choose two persons with whom they would like to hold 30-minute individual consultations on the second day of the event. The decision-making process will definitely be facilitated by an evening meeting for all  the participants and experts. Another novelty introduced by PHOTO-MATCH is that reviewers will also pick photographers with whom they would like to talk.

PHOTO-MATCH will be a meeting of over 20 reviewers and around 40 photographers selected on the basis of applications.
