“CAESAR – these are portraits of children who were born by Caesarean section and have a few seconds of life – all survived.

This project was born of a reality: the birth of my first child! It took place in emergency and surgery that took place had to save him, and his mother. When I saw him for the first time, he was bloodied and covered in this white substance, as such, he was like a warrior who has just won his first battle, like an angel out of darkness. What a joy to hear him scream.

Far from the clichés and platitudes, I wanted to show us as we are when we are born. And regardless, whether a cesarean delivery or natural voice, everyone is born naked, tears in blood and other body fluids.

All these photographs are for me, the first performance of a new human being”.
