GRAND PRIX FOTOFESTIWAL 2017 RULES AND REGULATIONS.
§ 1 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
1. These terms and conditions specify the rules for participation in the GRAND PRIX FOTOFESTIWAL 2017 competition (hereinafter referred to as the Competition).
2. The Competition is organized by Fundacja Edukacji Wizualnej (the Foundation of Visual Education), ul. Tymienieckiego 3, 90-365 Łódz, entered into the National Court Register kept by the District Court for Łódz-Sródmiescie, XX Commercial Division of the National Court Register under KRS number 0000155981, NIP number: 982-03-06-234, REGON: 473145380.
3. Participation in the Competition is subject to a fee (registration fee).
4. The aim of the Competition is to select the most interesting projects which will be presented in the Grand Prix Programme of the 16th International Festival of Photography in Łódz – Fotofestiwal 2017 (which is organized by the Foundation of Visual Education).
§ 2 CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION.
1. The Competition is open. The Organizer invites all photographers to submit their applications.
2. The Competition does not imply any restrictions on the subject, technique or the number of works.
3. Through one application may be submitted one project, which is a project of the Participant of the Competition.
4. The project can be submitted by duets or collectives (curator collective exhibition will not be taken into consideration).
5. Each participant has the right to submit more than one project provided that the registration fee will be paid for each each project applied for the Competition.
6. The works included in the Project shall be made individually or collectively in the case of duets or collectives. They can not, in any way, be encumbered by third party rights.
7. If application includes a photo book, the Participant is asked to add a digital version so that it can be seen online.
8. If possible, Participants of the Competition are asked not to send applications on CD or DVD- because of Competition organization we prefer online applications, on flash drives or memory cards.
9. Each Participant, while applying for the Competition, agrees to receive information (Newsletter) sent by the Organizer on his/her e-mail address.
10. Participation in the Competition is tantamount to accepting it’s rules and regulations.
11. Method of submitting the Project:
– the Project should be submitted by 30.11.2016 (30th of November 2016),
– the Project application should include:
a) the Project in a digital form (works in the JPG / TIFF format may be sent via post on flash drive, memory cards, in exceptional cases on a CD/DVD labelled with the Participant’s full name, or via e-mail – in this case, the maximum size of all pictures in file should not exceed 5 MB), or in any other form allowing for its recording and delivery to the Organizer (prints, albums, etc. with obligatory reference to the digital content online),
b) description of the Project drawn up according to the form in the Attachment No. 1 to these rules and regulations (available for download on www.fotofestiwal.com),
c) confirmation of the registration fee (photocopy, scan).

Participants who wish to receive a VAT invoice must pay only by a bank transfer.
The condition to issue a VAT invoice is send the required data.
• All the costs associated with paying via a bank transfer (including transfers from outside of Poland) shall be borne by the Participant of the Competition.
• Confirmation of payment of the registration fee should be sent to the Organizer alongside with the application. In justified individual cases (difficulties in making a transfer), the time to pay the registration fee (booking on the account) will be extended by 5 days after the deadline for applications (after an advance notice is sent to the Organizer). If the Participant fails to pay the registration fee, his/her application will be rejected.
• The name of the competition (“Grand Prix 2017”) as well as the name and surname of the person applying for the competition should be included in the transfer title.
• The registration fee will not be returned to the Participants, and it will be allocated for the statutory purposes of the Organizer.
Attention!
Free participation in Grand Prix competition is possible.
Such notification will be taken into account only when given appropriate arguments.

A complete application of the project shall be submitted:
– via E-mail to gp@fotofestiwal.com (GRAND PRIX in the title of the message, file size up to 5MB)
or
– in person / by post to:

The project application should be sent in an envelope or packed in any other way that reduces the possibility of damage of the work. Packaging should be labelled “GRAND PRIX 2017”. If the application is sent by post, the date of registration is the postmark date.
Applications which do not meet the above requirements will not be taken into consideration.
§ 3 EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS AND AWARDS.
1. Applications must be submitted by the 30th of November 2016. Applications submitted to the Organizer’s office after the deadline will not be taken under consideration.
2. All the applications will be evaluated by the Jury appointed by the Organizer.
3. The Jury members will be announced by the 5th of September 2016.
4. Decisions of the Jury are final.
5. The Jury will have no obligation to explain their decisions or provide information on the decision-making process.
6. From the projects submitted by the Participants, the Jury will select:
A. The Competition Winner, who will receive a monetary prize of PLN 10000 (around EUR 2300), and whose project will be presented as an exhibition during the 16th International Festival of Photography in Łódz- Fotofestiwal 2017 (June 2017). The monetary prize will be awarded during the Main Festival Weekend. As part of the exhibition of the Competition Winner, the Organizer will provide among others:
– the costs of production of works included in the Project or the two-way transport of the framed works – up to the amount agreed in the separate contract between the Winner and the organizers
– assembly and disassembly of exhibition and other conditions necessary for presentation of the exhibition,
– reimbursement of travel expenses (up to 150 Euros),
– accommodation for three nights for one person during the Main Festival Weekend.
The provisions concerning organization of the individual exhibition will be established in the agreement signed between the Organizer and the Competition Winner after the results are announced.
B. 9 Competition Finalists The Projects of Competition Finalists will be presented at exhibition during 16th International Festival of Photography in Lodz. As part of the exhibition the Organizer will provide among others:
– the costs of production of works included in the Project or the two-way transport of the framed works – up to the amount agreed in the separate contract between the Finalist and the organizers
– assembly and disassembly of exhibition and other conditions necessary for presentation of the exhibition,
– accommodation for three nights for one person during the Main Festival Weekend
The provisions concerning the organization of the exhibition will be established in the agreement signed between the Organizer and Finalists after the results are announced.
C. Projects for the slideshow which will be presented during Fotofestiwal 2017.
D. Authors of the projects who will be invited by the Organizer to participate in Portfolio Review during Fotofestiwal 2017 (June 2017) free of charge.
7. The Organizer does not provide any additional remuneration associated with organization of the exhibition.
8. The income obtained on account of the monetary prize in the Competition (referred to in point a) shall be subject to the lump sum tax of 10% of the prize value. The monetary prize will be allocated an additional sum amounting to 11.11% of the total gross value of the prize money. The lump sum tax shall be paid by the Organizer of the Competition. The Competition Organizer is entitled to deduct the amount of lump sum tax from the additional sum mentioned above.
§ 4 FINAL PROVISIONS.
1. Applications which fail to comply with the provisions of these terms and conditions shall not be considered.
2. The Organizer does not send back Projects submitted for the Competition (prints, albums, flash drives, memory cards, CDs or DVDs) after the Competition.
3. News and information about the Competition will be published on www.fotofestiwal.com
4. All correspondence and questions regarding the Competition should be send by e-mail to: gp@fotofestiwal.com.
5. Competition Schedule:
a) announcement: July 4, 2016,
b) deadline for applications: November 30, 2016,
c) meeting of the Jury: by January 22, 2017,
d) notification of the Participants about the results: by January 31, 2017,
e) presentation of awards: by June 11, 2017.
6. The Organizer reserves the right to suspend, modify or extend the Competition in the event of reasons beyond their control.
7. The Organizer shall have the right to cancel the Competition and not to select the winner without giving any reason.
8. Person who does not meet the requirements specified in these terms and conditions or provide false information will automatically be excluded from participation in the Competition.
9. Entering the Competition (submitting the Project) is understood as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
