The Meeting Point - International Portfolio Review held during the International Festival of Photography in Lodz – Fotofestiwal 2012, is a two-day series of individual and direct meetings between photographers and experts. The review is organised for the sixth time and has for years constituted a platform providing professional photographers with the opportunity to share their experiences. This year’s edition will be held on 11 May (Friday) and 12 May (Saturday).
Meeting Point is aimed both at experienced artists and those who have only just embarked on their artistic career. It suffices to have completed at least one photographic project. Taking part in the review gives artists the opportunity to present their works and obtain professional advice from experienced experts from all over the world – curators, critics, journalists, book and magazine publishers, gallery owners and festival organisers. These meetings help complete original projects. However, they mainly allow for establishing contacts and cooperation. This is the perfect form of promotion and entering exhibitions for young artists. This year’s portfolio review has additional promotional value, as CDs with participants’ works will be sent to selected photography festival directors and curators.
Photographers willing to participate in the portfolio review Meeting Point are obliged to complete and deliver the application form and 10 photographs (JPG) by 25 April 2012 to the e-mail address portfolio@fotofestiwal.com. The list of photographers who qualify for the review will be posted on the Fotofestiwal website not later than on 30 April 2012. Participants will have the possibility to meet with 6 selected experts. Each meeting with a reviewer will last 30 minutes. The session begins at 10.00 a.m. and ends at 5.00 p.m.; which includes a 90-minute break.
