We contribute this space to photographer’s groups and initiatives based on cooperation and networking. Five different groups will present five different forms of activity, as well as the effects of their work. Cooperation-based activities themselves are not new, however, what is novel about them is their expansive and global nature obtained thanks to the Internet; the possibility of exchange, not bound by national and language borders. The structure and objectives of such groups vary – they usually jointly organise workshops and exhibitions, complete projects, support each other in publishing activities, manage common websites, and join forces to apply for co-financing of their projects. However, they adhere to a single method of operation – activity based on creative collaboration. What is the power of such activity, what effects does it have, how can it be put to a practical purpose? We will take a look at the activities of selected groups and collectives and we will also talk to the artists.
