The jury selected one winner and twelve projects-nominees from among 400 applications.
On 10 May, at the opening of the 11th Fotofestiwal – International Festival of Photography in Lodz – the winners of this year’s Grand Prix contest, which has been organised since 2006 by the Festival, were announced. The prize of PLN 10,000 for the project “DREAMLINE (2008-2011)” was awarded to Tomasz Lazar, the first Polish winner of the Grand Prix in the history of the Fotofestiwal.
The remaining 12 projects will be presented in the form of night slide shows, prepared especially for the festival evening.
The jury convened in November 2011. We invited the following internationally acclaimed specialists to join the jury: Xavier Canonne, director of the Museum of Photography in Charleroi, Simon Bainbrigde, editor of the “British Journal of Photography” and Adam Mazur, curator of the Centre for Contemporary Art “Ujazdowski Castle”.
