12th edition of the Collector’s Photography project
Exhibition and auction of Polish photography champions

Human body had always attracted attention of artists. With time it has become a source of inspiration for many prominent Polish photographers. At the exhibition we will see photographs of artists who were active prior to the Second World War, postwar avant-garde authors, tireless experiment-lovers as well as representatives of the youngest generation. The exhibition has been planned as a retrospective, both with regard to the works’ chronology and to the approach to subject matter. We will see photographs born out of sheer admiration for the beauty of a human body as well as photographs which deal with the subject in a more symbolic and conceptual way. We will be able to see a unique collection of photographs, which are truly exceptional examples from their authors’ oeuvre. They are photographs shown at prestigious exhibitions, widely published and multiply awarded at various competitions. Selected photographs of the two special guests of Fotofestiwal: Volker Hinz and Roger Ballen will also be exhibited. The exhibition will open in Warsaw and later move to Łódź.

Works selected for the exhibition will be up for sale at the photography auction, which will take place on 7 June, at 5.30 pm at the Art_Inkubator festival centre at 3 Tymieniecki Street in Łódź. A carefully compiled bilingual auction catalogue will also be available, comprising artists’ bios as well as descriptions and reproductions of the auctioned work.
