The Night of Museums is an event initiated in 1997 in Berlin, where for the first time the museums and galleries were open at night and the entrance was free of charge or the payment was just minimal. At present, over 120 cities all over Europe takes part in the Night of Museums, out of which 44 are in Poland.

Every year in Lodz there are more and more cultural institutions that decide to invite the visitors in unusual timing, between 6.00 pm and 1.00 am. During the 8th night of museums in Lodz not only museums, but also galleries and cultural centers prepared special programs.

 

During this 11th Fotofestiwal, the festival’s office, for the second time, will be situated in the exceptional 19th century Grohman’s Villa. During the Night of Museums you will be able to see two photo exhibitions (Obraz zmian and Collective space) in its interiors, and you will have an opportunity to appreciate the villa’s unique charm at night time.
