Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
Curator: dr Maria Pyrlik
Artistic supervisor: Prot Jarnuszkiewicz, Associate Professor / Director of Graduate Studies in Photography, Media Art & Scenography Department, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
This is the title of the first joined exhibition of the Schools of Photography and Image Production, Media Art &Scenography Department, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
It presents nine studios, where, in the course of the master/apprentice learning process, students acquire the necessary skills, techniques and technologies to develop their own visual vocabularies.
While combining various analog and digital technologies, the school promotes coexistence of all possible ways of explicating young artists’ ideas. At the same time, it inspires reflective thinking and the ability to raise questions concerning the nature of the self and the surrounding reality, prompts conscious awareness, and encourages astonishment.
Therefore, it is not only the perspective and the teaching system offered by one teacher, but rather a complex relationship of various (often mutually exclusive) approaches to photography that the student has to face in order to find his or her own unique artistic identity.
One needs to be aware of the fact that above all the exhibition introduces the next generation of students: their interests, sensitivity, and their approaches to the reality we experience.
Thus the variety of attitudes, the diversity of topics and projects.
The multiplicity of VIEWS.
